How far is Casa de la Paz from town?
Casa de la Paz is about a 10 minute walk to the center of Tamarindo.
Do we need a car to get around?
Typically, no. Anywhere in Tamarindo is within 20 minutes walking. In addition, Uber is available and taxis abound.
If you want to stretch out and see things outside of town, many companies offer tours to many fantastic destinations spots. Look for the Tour signs in town.
Obviously, if you want to travel on your own, you will need to rent a car. They are available from many reputable agencies, most with big names you have heard of.
What currency is used in Costa Rica?
The Costa Rican colón (CRC) is the national currency of the Republic of Costa Rica. However the US dollar is widely accepted as are your credit cards. ATM’s are available in town and dispense either USD or CRC.
How close is the beach from Casa de la Paz?
Playa Langosta is 2.5 blocks from the front door. Playa Tamarindo is a 10 minute walk the other direction. At low tide you can walk the beach from one end to the other!
Do I need to know Spanish?
Tamarindo is a town full of tourists from around the world. English is definitely spoken by most in the hospitality industry.
Brush up on some of your old high school Spanish anyway, it’s fun!
