WE LOVE IT HERE, YOU WILL TOO!

OUR STORY

Our story starts out just like many vacation travel stories. You know, the kind where there is a bottle of wine, an investigative mind, Google and an airline ticket website. Kathy was looking for a new place to visit, a new adventure. After a couple hours of relentlessly searching the internet, reading about different places, looking at pictures and carefully evaluating everything, she nailed it down, got it all figured out. San Juan, Puerto Rico was going to be the next adventure. Yay!! All that was left to do was buy the airplane tickets. She poured the last glass of wine from the bottle, and began searching for the best deals to be had. After searching and comparing, she found the perfect flights and booked the tickets. Job complete! The next morning of course she was very excited about her new plans, and doing as most people probably would, she started reviewing everything again, dreaming about all she wanted to do and see on this trip! It was about that time when, as she was perusing her flight information, she realized she hadn't booked San Juan, Puerto Rico, but had instead accidentally booked her flights to and from San Jose, Costa Rica! So, she utilized a lifeline and phoned a close friend, who's daughter once went to Costa Rica, and asked for suggestions on where to go, and what to do when there. Tamarindo was the recommendation, so Kathy decided to go for it, as it seemed that fate had already taken over her future anyway. Fast forwarding to that initial trip, as she was enjoying a beautiful walk down the Tamarindo beach one day, she got tripped up crossing a log, and sustained some kind of painful foot injury, making it difficult, if not impossible to complete her beach walk. Some people living in a house right on the beach had seen what happened and realized she was hurt, so they came down, helped her back to their place so that she could recuperate, and figure out what to do about her situation. They turned out to be the most compassionate, nicest people you could ever hope to meet, as is most everyone you will ever meet in Costa Rica. As a result of this chance encounter with the owners of this house, she met surfer and mega popular songster, Jack Johnson, who was in town to surf, and he hung out and partied with everybody there at the house, and the rest is history. Kathy knew immediately that she had found her happy place, and came home, nursed her broken foot back to health and decided to buy a place there because she knew that is where she wanted to be. Thus, Casa de la Paz at Villas Guapinol was born. We have been sharing it with others for several years and now we would love to share it with you. Who knows, you may also decide that Costa Rica is your happy place! We hope so!
